Wednesday: Press Conference - The DREAMer Deferred Action Program Unveiled

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project and partners to announce assistance for 30,000 WA State youth

Today the Obama Administration released the much anticipated DREAMer "Deferred Action" program application process, which will remove the threat of deportation for as many as 30,000 youth in Washington State who meet the program's requirements.

Tomorrow, Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) will participate in a joint press conference with key allies to outline their efforts to serve youth that qualify for the program in Washington State, while highlighting the huge interest in applying for the program. NWIRP and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA-WA) will announce upcoming legal workshops providing DREAMers the opportunity to consult with an attorney or qualified legal representative about applying for Deferred Action.

  • Additional information from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) about the implementation of the DREAMer Deferred Action program (known as the "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Process" (DACA)) can be found here.
  • NWIRP will unveil upcoming workshops, group information sessions, legal clinics, and one-on-one legal counseling to serve youth throughout the state who meet the program's requirements. 
  • NWIRP is the largest state-wide organization serving the immigration legal needs of low-income immigrants and refugees.
